About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll and AP Specialist to support our accounting team in ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee’s payroll and vendor invoices. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in processing payroll and accounts payable, with exposure to payroll software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of regular payroll cycles and off payroll cycles
- Review and verify timesheets, work hours, and wage calculations
- Maintain and update payroll records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Support Accounting and HR teams with daily activities, audits, and year-end processing
- Perform all procedures related to accounts payable
- Review, process, and code AP invoices and employee expense reports
- Maintain vendor accounts
- Must demonstrate great communication skills, written and verbal
- Proficient utilizing Microsoft Excel and v-look up experience is required
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax codes, and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processing and GAAP
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. CoAdQuantum, Paycom, or similar platforms)
Bonus Skills:
- Experience utilizing Kronos/Quantum/Epicor software is highly desirable
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
