About the Role
The Material Driver will be responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering supplies and materials amongst our facilities in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely transports, sorts, and stocks materials, as well as providing support to the materials handling teams (Receiving, Shipping, etc).
Key Responsibilities:
- Loads vehicle for delivery
- Performs simple vehicle maintenance; cleaning interior of vehicle, checking lights, checking tires, filling fluids, scheduling routine maintenance to keep vehicle running properly
- Observes all traffic laws and posted speed limits
- Delivers goods to clients
- Interacts with the customer/suppliers in a professional manner
- Collects required signature for payment, proof of delivery, and gives a receipt to customer/supplier/facility
- Returns all required documentation to appropriate company official
- Observes no smoking in delivery vehicle
- Maintains a neat, clean personal appearance
- Must get all pertinent information if involved in an accident and inform appropriate company official
- Unloads vehicle after completing delivery runs
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience
- Familiarity with delivery practices and handling methods
- Forklift certified
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, priorities, and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Acute attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand
- Occasionally required to walk
- Continually required to sit
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Occasionally required to life/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
- Continual exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
